Lever - JSS2 Basic science Lesson Note
A lever consists of a rigid bar that pivots on a fulcrum. When a force is applied to one end of the lever (the input force), it creates a turning effect around the fulcrum, exerting a force on the other end (the output force). The lever allows you to amplify the force applied or change the direction of the force.
For instance, a seesaw at the playground is a simple lever where one person pushing down on one end causes the other end to rise, enabling the user to lift a heavier load than they could by just lifting it directly.
