Life Cycle and Behaviour of Pests - JSS1 Agricultural science Lesson Note

1. Egg Stage: Pests often begin as eggs laid on or near host plants by adult insects or other organisms.

2. Larval Stage: After hatching, pests undergo a larval stage where they actively feed and grow, causing damage to crops.

3. Pupal Stage: Many pests go through a pupal stage, during which they undergo metamorphosis before emerging as adults.

4. Adult Stage: In the adult stage, pests reproduce, laying eggs and continuing the life cycle.
