Linear Motion - JSS2 Basic technology Lesson Note
Linear motion is the movement of an object along a straight path. It is characterised by having a constant direction and can be uniform (constant speed) or non-uniform (changing speed). Linear motion is when an object moves from one point to another in a straight line.
Examples:-
- A car driving down a straight road.
- A person walking along a hallway.
- A ball rolling on a flat surface.
Applications:
- Transportation: Vehicles such as cars, trains, and buses primarily move in linear motion to transport people and goods from one place to another.
- Manufacturing: Conveyor belts in factories move products along a straight path for assembly and packaging.
- Sports: Track and field events like sprinting involve athletes moving in a straight line from the start to the
- finish line.
