Literature-in-English and English Literature

Literature in English is any form of literature written in English language irrespective of the nationality of the author or the subject of discussion. It could be African, Caribbean, English but the presentation is in English language. English literature on the other hand is the literature specifically belonging to the English tradition. Also, Literature in English refers to any literary work that is written in the English language, regardless of where it was written or by whom. This includes works written by authors from all over the world, such as Toni Morrison, Gabriel García Márquez, and Salman Rushdie.

English literature refers to the literary works that were written in the English language by authors from the British Isles (including Ireland) from the 7th century to the present day. This includes works by authors such as Chaucer, Shakespeare, Milton, and Austen.
