                                                       Lyric Poetry

Unlike the first two poems you have studied, this poem has words that ryhme at the ends of the lines. You about rhyme: Cat, mat , bat and hat all rhyme at the ends of the lines. You know about rhyme have the same spelling; there is an example of this in this poem where bough rhymes with cow, What matters is that the words end in the same sound  or sounds. i.e that they rhyme.

Leisure

What is this life if , Full of care,

We have no time to stand and stare.

No time to see, in broad daylight,

Streams full of stars, like skies at night.

A poor life this if, full of care,

We have no time to stand and stare.

                                                                             W.H. Davies.
