Manuring and Fertilizer Requirements and Application - SS1 Agriculture Lesson Note
Organic manure, like compost or well-rotted cow dung, can be applied before planting to improve soil fertility. This helps provide essential nutrients to the rubber trees.
Rubber trees require nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) for healthy growth and latex production. The NPK ratio should be adjusted according to soil nutrient tests.
Fertilizers can be applied in split doses during the rainy season. Typically, nitrogen is applied in three or four equal split doses, while phosphorus and potassium are applied twice a year. Fertilizers should be spread evenly around the tree's drip line and incorporated into the soil.
