Method of Propagation - SS1 Agriculture Lesson Note

Oil palm is primarily propagated through seeds. The seeds are collected from mature palm fruits and planted in nurseries. After about six months, the seedlings are transplanted into the field. Clonal propagation is also used, where selected high-yielding palms are cloned through tissue culture to maintain desirable traits.

Melon can be propagated through seeds. The seeds are sown directly in the field or raised in seedbeds and then transplanted to the main field once they have developed into seedlings.

Groundnut is propagated through seeds. The seeds are sown directly into the soil at the beginning of the rainy season or in rows with adequate spacing.
