Officials in Volleyball and Their Duties - JSS1 Physical and Health Education Lesson Note

In volleyball,there are officials who oversee the game and ensure that the rules are being followed.The main officials include;

 The referee :The referee is responsible for enforcing rules, making game-related calls, managing the score, maintaining discipline on the court, overseeing substitutions and timeouts, ensuring player safety, and resolving any disputes or conflicts that may arise during the game.

The umpire: the umpire carries out the same duty as the referee.

Line judges.The line judge in volleyball is responsible for determining whether a ball is in or out of bounds on their specific assigned sides of the court. They also assist the referee in making calls,line judges also help the referee in monitoring the net and center line violations.
