PART OF SPEECH: ADJECTIVES AND COMPARISON.

Adjectives:
An adjective is a word that describes or modifies a noun or pronoun, adding more detail or providing clarification about its qualities.

Types of Adjectives:
1. Adjective of Quality: Describes the quality or characteristic of a noun.
2. Adjective of Number: Indicates the quantity or number of nouns.
3. Adjective of Definite Number (Cardinal and Ordinal): Specifies a specific number or order.
4. Proper Adjectives: Derived from proper nouns and describe specific people, places, or things.
5. Distributive Adjectives: Refer to individual members or items within a group.
6. Demonstrative Adjectives: Point out or specify a particular noun.
7. Possessive Adjectives: Indicate ownership or possession of a noun.

Comparison of Adjectives:
- Adjectives can be compared in three degrees: positive, comparative, and superlative.
  - Positive: Describes a quality without comparison.
  - Comparative: Compares two things or individuals.
  - Superlative: Indicates the highest degree or quality among three or more things or individuals.

Examples of Comparison:
- Tall, Taller, Tallest
- Big, Bigger, Biggest
- Beautiful, More beautiful, Most beautiful
- Hopeful, More hopeful, Most hopeful
- Good, Better, Best
- Bad, Worse, Worst

Adverbs:
Adverbs enhance verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs, providing more detail about how, when, where, or to what extent an action or quality occurs. Many adverbs end in "-ly."

Types of Adverbs:
- Adverb of Manner: Describes how an action is carried out.
- Adverb of Time: Indicates when an action occurs.
- Adverb of Place: Shows where an action takes place.
- Adverb of Frequency: Reveals how often an action occurs.
- Adverb of Degree: Indicates the intensity or extent of an action or quality.
