Plot and Summary
The play opens with the arrival of a white man in the village of Mando. The man claims to be a doctor, but he is actually a con artist who is looking to exploit the villagers. The white man quickly gains the trust of the villagers, including the king and the chief priest. However, the king's son, Kindo, is suspicious of the white man and believes that he is up to no good.
The white man convinces the villagers to sell him their land and to give him all of their gold. He also promises to build a hospital and a school in the village. However, the white man never fulfills his promises. He takes the villagers' land and gold and then disappears.
The villagers are devastated by the white man's betrayal. They realize that they have been deceived and that they have lost everything. The play ends with the villagers mourning the loss of their land, their gold, and their innocence.
