Procedures for the Application of Makeup - JSS1 Cultural and Creative Art Lesson Note

a) Prepping the Skin:

Cleanse the skin to remove any dirt, oil, or makeup residue.

Apply a moisturizer suitable for your skin type to hydrate and create a smooth base for makeup application.

Optionally, use a primer to help makeup last longer and create a smoother canvas for application.

b) Applying Foundation:

Choose a foundation that matches your skin tone and type.

Apply foundation evenly using a makeup sponge, brush, or fingers, starting from the center of the face and blending outward.

Blend well into the jawline and hairline to avoid harsh lines.

c) Concealing:

Use a concealer to cover any blemishes, dark circles, or imperfections.

Dab concealer onto the areas needing coverage and blend gently with a sponge or brush.

d) Adding Color:

Apply blush to the apples of the cheeks for a natural flush of color.

Use bronzer or contour powder to define the cheekbones, jawline, and temples if desired.

Apply eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara to define the eyes, enhancing their shape and adding depth.

Fill in eyebrows using a pencil, powder, or gel to frame the face.

e) Finishing Touches:

Set makeup with a translucent powder to increase longevity and reduce shine.

Apply lipstick or lip gloss to complete the look, choosing a shade that complements the overall makeup.
