- Players start by serving, hitting the ball into the opponent's court.
- The ball must bounce once in the opponent's court before they hit it back.
- The objective is to hit the ball in a way that the opponent can't return it.
- Points are scored when the opponent fails to return the ball or hits it out of bounds.
- Matches are typically best of three or five sets, with each set consisting of games, and games consisting of points.
- The scoring system goes 15, 30, 40, then game, with deuce and advantage for tied scores.
