Drugs can have various side effects, which can range from mild to severe:
- Physical side effects: These can include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headaches, tremors, sweating, and changes in appetite or weight.
- Psychological side effects: Drugs can also affect mental health, leading to mood swings, anxiety, depression, paranoia, hallucinations, or psychosis.
- Addiction and dependency: Many drugs carry the risk of addiction, where users develop a compulsive need to use the substance despite negative consequences. Withdrawal symptoms may occur when stopping drug use.
- Health complications: Prolonged drug use can lead to serious health problems, such as liver damage, cardiovascular issues, respiratory problems, neurological damage, and increased risk of infectious diseases like HIV/AIDS or hepatitis.
- Social and legal consequences: Drug use can also have social and legal repercussions, including strained relationships, loss of employment, financial difficulties, criminal charges, and incarceration.
