Sources, Examples, and Types of Computer Viruses - JSS3 Computer Studies Lesson Note

Computer viruses can be introduced into a system through various sources, including infected email attachments, malicious websites, infected software downloads, and removable storage devices. Examples of computer viruses include the infamous ILOVEYOU virus that spread via email in 2000 and the WannaCry ransomware that caused widespread damage in 2017. There are different types of computer viruses, such as file-infecting viruses that attach themselves to executable files, macro viruses that infect documents containing macros, and boot sector viruses that target the boot sector of a computer's hard drive.
