Stages of rehearsals - JSS2 Cultural and creative art Lesson Note
Script Familiarization: Actors and actresses start by reading the script to understand their roles and the overall story.
Blocking: This involves the actors and actresses going through their lines and movements simultaneously, figuring out where they need to stand, move, and interact with each other on stage.
Polishing: Once the blocking is established, rehearsals focus on refining the performance. This includes fine-tuning delivery, timing, and character interactions through repeated run-throughs.
Dress/Technical Rehearsal: In this final rehearsal before the actual production, costumes, makeup, props, set pieces, and lighting effects are all incorporated. This allows the cast and crew to practice with all the elements that will be present during the performance, ensuring everything runs smoothly on the day of the show.
