Terms related to Earth and Space - JSS1 Basic science Lesson Note
Solar System: Our solar system consists of the Sun and all the celestial objects that orbit it, including planets, moons, asteroids, and comets.
Rotation and Revolution: Earth rotates on its axis, causing day and night, while it revolves around the Sun, completing one orbit in about 365.25 days, resulting in the changing of seasons.
Eclipse: An eclipse occurs when one celestial body passes into the shadow of another. A solar eclipse happens when the Moon blocks the Sun's light, and a lunar eclipse occurs when Earth blocks sunlight from reaching the Moon.
Seasons: Seasons are caused by the tilt of Earth's axis as it orbits the Sun. This tilt affects the angle at which sunlight strikes the Earth's surface, leading to variations in temperature and weather patterns.
