(i) Comedy:
Comedy is a type of drama that aims to entertain and amuse the audience. It often features humorous situations, witty dialogues, and exaggerated characters. Comedy may explore themes such as love, friendship, and social conventions, using humor to comment on human behavior and society. Examples of comedy include sitcoms, romantic comedies, and farces.
(ii) Tragedy:
Tragedy is a type of drama that focuses on serious and often somber themes, such as fate, morality, and the human condition. Tragic plays typically revolve around a protagonist who faces a series of unfortunate events or conflicts, leading to a tragic downfall or demise. Tragedies evoke feelings of pity and fear in the audience, as they witness the protagonist's struggles and ultimate downfall. Examples of tragic works include Shakespearean tragedies like "Hamlet" and "Macbeth," as well as modern tragedies such as Arthur Miller's "Death of a Salesman."
