Types of Livestock Housing - JSS1 Agricultural science Lesson Note

1. Open-air Shelters: Simple structures with a roof but open sides, suitable for animals in temperate climates. Common for cattle and sheep.

2. Barns: Enclosed structures providing protection from the elements. Suitable for housing pigs, poultry, and small ruminants.

3. Stables: Structures designed for horses and other equines, providing individual stalls for each animal.

4. Pens and Paddocks: Enclosed areas for animals, often used for temporary containment or during specific management practices.
