Vocabulary Development Members of the family - JSS1 English Language Lesson Note

           

Members of the family

  1. Parents:

    • Father: A male parent.

    • Mother: A female parent.

  2. Siblings:

    • Brother: A male sibling.

    • Sister: A female sibling.

    • Sibling: Brother or sister.

  3. Extended Family:

    • Grandfather: Father's or mother's father.

    • Grandmother: Father's or mother's mother.

    • Grandparents: Grandfather and grandmother.

    • Uncle: Brother of one's father or mother.

    • Aunt: Sister of one's father or mother.

    • Cousins: Children of one's uncle or aunt.

  4. Immediate Family:

    • Son: Male child of parents.

    • Daughter: Female child of parents.

    • Children: Sons and daughters.

    • Nephew: Son of one's brother or sister.

    • Niece: Daughter of one's brother or sister.

  5. Marriage:

    • Husband: Married male partner.

    • Wife: Married female partner.

    • Spouse: Husband or wife.
