An independent electoral commission ensures the conduct of free, fair and credible elections 

The following are some of the requirements for voting in an election;

• Must be a citizen of that country. 
• At least 18 years of age on or before the date of the next election.
• A current resident of that country/state
• Not in prison or on parole for a felony conviction.
