Calculate the change in Enthalpy H for a reacti... - SS2 Chemistry Chemical Thermodynamics Question

Calculate the change in Enthalpy (ΔH) for a reaction given the following information:

Reaction: 2H2(g) + O2(g) → 2H2O(g)

ΔHf° (H2O(g)): -241.8 kJ/mol

ΔHf° (H2(g)): 0 kJ/mol

ΔHf° (O2(g)): 0 kJ/mol

ΔH = 2 × ΔHf° (H2O(g)) - [2 × ΔHf° (H2(g)) + ΔHf° (O2(g))]

= 2 × (-241.8 kJ/mol) - [2 × 0 kJ/mol + 0 kJ/mol]

= -483.6 kJ/mol
