Question on: SS1 Physics - Forces
Discuss the conditions for both translational and rotational equilibrium.
In translational equilibrium, the net force acting on an object is zero. This means that the sum of all the forces acting on the object in different directions is balanced, resulting in no acceleration. In rotational equilibrium, the net torque acting on an object is zero. This means that the sum of all the torques acting on the object is balanced, resulting in no angular acceleration. Both translational and rotational equilibrium requires the forces or torques to be balanced, either through their magnitudes or directions.
