If x frac 2 3 and y - 6 evaluate xy - frac y x - WAEC Mathematics 2017 Question
If x = \(\frac{2}{3}\) and y = - 6, evaluate xy - \(\frac{y}{x}\)
A
0
B
5
C
8
D
9
correct option: b
x = \(\frac{2}{3}\) and y = - 6
xy - \(\frac{y}{x}\)
\(\frac{2}{3} - (6)^2 - (-6) \div \frac{2}{3}\)
= -4 - (6) x \(\frac{3}{2}\)
= -4 - (-6) x \(\frac{3}{2}\)
= -4 - (-9)
= -4 + 9
= 5
