Simplify frac 1 x -1 frac 1 y -1 -1 - JAMB Mathematics 1990 Question
Simplify (\(\frac{1}{x^{-1}} + \frac{1}{y^{-1}}\))-1
A
\(\frac{x}{y}\)
B
xy
C
\(\frac{x}{y}\)
D
(xy)-1
correct option: c
Simplify (\(\frac{1}{x^{-1}} + \frac{1}{y^{-1}}\))-1 = (\(\frac{1}{x^{-1}} + \frac{1}{y^{-1}}\))-1
= (x + y)-1 = \(\frac{(x)}{y}\)
= \(\frac{x}{y}\)
= (x + y)-1 = \(\frac{(x)}{y}\)
= \(\frac{x}{y}\)
