What is the mean of the data t 2t - 1 t - 2 2t ... - JAMB Mathematics 2008 Question
What is the mean of the data t, 2t - 1, t - 2, 2t - 1, 4t and 2t + 2?
A
2t
B
2t - 1
C
\(\frac{2}{3}\)t + 1
D
2t - \(\frac{1}{3}\)
correct option: d
\(\frac{t + 2t - 1 + t - 2 + 2t - 1 + 4t + 2t + 2}{6}\)
= \(\frac{12t - 2}{6}\)
= \(\frac {12t}{6}\) - \(\frac{2}{6}\)
= 2t - \(\frac{1}{3}\)
= \(\frac{12t - 2}{6}\)
= \(\frac {12t}{6}\) - \(\frac{2}{6}\)
= 2t - \(\frac{1}{3}\)
