Agent middlemen - SS1 Commerce Lesson Note
Agent middlemen are intermediaries who facilitate transactions between buyers and sellers without taking ownership of the products. They provide services such as negotiating deals, finding suitable suppliers or buyers, and assisting in completing the sale.
Brokers:
Brokers are agent middlemen who facilitate transactions on behalf of their clients, either buyers or sellers. They act as intermediaries, connecting buyers with sellers or vice versa. Brokers help negotiate deals, arrange meetings between parties, and ensure smooth communication throughout the transaction process. They earn commissions or fees based on the value of the transaction.
Manufacturers' Agents:
Manufacturers' agents, also known as manufacturer representatives or sales agents, represent manufacturers in selling their products. They act as independent salespeople working on behalf of the manufacturer. Manufacturers' agents have a deep understanding of the products they represent and work closely with retailers, wholesalers, or other businesses to promote and sell those products. They earn commissions based on the sales they generate.
Sales Agents:
Sales agents are similar to manufacturers' agents, but they represent multiple manufacturers or suppliers. They have a portfolio of products from different companies and act as intermediaries to sell those products to retailers or other buyers. Sales agents leverage their industry knowledge and relationships to match products with suitable buyers and negotiate deals on behalf of the manufacturers. Like manufacturers' agents, they earn commissions based on the sales they generate.
Auctioneers:
Auctioneers conduct auctions where goods or services are sold to the highest bidder. They facilitate the bidding process, manage the auction event, and ensure fair and transparent transactions. Auctioneers can specialize in various types of auctions, such as real estate auctions, art auctions, or online auctions. They play a crucial role in setting auction rules, marketing the items up for bid, and handling the final sale.
