Important measurements needed for making simple garments are;

For girls

1. Bust: Round the fullest part of the chest.
2. Waist: Round the smallest part of the trunk.
3. Hip: Round the largest part of the body below the waist.
4. Length of back bodice.
5. Skirt length
6. Across the chest

For boys

1. Neck
2. Chest
3. Sleeve length
4. Length of back (bodice)
5. Shirt length
6. Across the back
7. Across the chest
