Edge finishing - JSS2 Home economics Lesson Note

Edge finishing is the process of neatening the raw edge of articles or garments. Necklines, hems or low edges, waist lines of garments and skirts require different types of finishes and three different methods in creating an edge finish and you can utilize either a sewing machine or an over-lock machine.

The edge finishing process include pinking, over-casting, edge-stitching, zig-zag finishing and bound finishing.
