Effects of Pollution on the Environment and Personal Health - JSS2 Physical and health education Lesson Note
Pollution, whether it is air, water, or land, wreaks havoc on the environment and human health. Air pollution, caused by emissions from vehicles, industries, and burning fossil fuels, leads to respiratory diseases like asthma and bronchitis. It also contributes to global warming and climate change, disrupting ecosystems and weather patterns.
Water pollution, from industrial waste and agricultural runoff, contaminates drinking water sources, causing illnesses like diarrhea, cholera, and even cancer. Land pollution, mainly from improper waste disposal, harms soil fertility and biodiversity, affecting food production and wildlife.
