ESSAY: DESCRIPTIVE ESSAY - SS2 English Lesson Note
A descriptive essay is a type of essay that describes a person, place, or thing in vivid detail. The goal of a descriptive essay is to create a clear and accurate picture in the reader's mind of the subject being described.
To write a good descriptive essay, you need to choose a topic that you are familiar with and that you can describe in detail. You should also use vivid language and sensory details to bring the subject to life for the reader.
Tips for writing a descriptive essay:
Choose a specific topic. Don't try to describe everything about a person, place, or thing. Instead, focus on one or two specific aspects.
Use vivid language. Use strong verbs, adjectives, and adverbs to create a clear and accurate picture in the reader's mind.
Use sensory details. Describe the subject using all five senses: sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing.
Be specific. Don't just say that something is "big" or "beautiful." Be specific about its size, shape, color, texture, etc.
Use transition words and phrases to help the reader follow your train of thought.
Write a conclusion that summarizes the main points of your essay.
