Heat Flow - JSS2 Basic science Lesson Note
Heat flow refers to the transfer of thermal energy between two objects or systems due to a temperature difference between them. It occurs through three main mechanisms: conduction, convection, and radiation. Conduction is the transfer of heat through direct contact between particles, convection is the transfer of heat through the movement of fluids (liquids or gases), and radiation is the transfer of heat through electromagnetic waves.
Heat always flows from objects or systems with higher temperatures to those with lower temperatures until thermal equilibrium is reached, where the temperatures are equalized. This process is fundamental to understanding how heat is distributed and managed in various systems and environments.
