Adequate land preparation is crucial for creating a favourable environment for plant growth.

Such activities include:

  - Ploughing: Turning over the soil to bury crop residues and break up compacted soil.

  - Harrowing: Breaking up clods, levelling the soil, and preparing a smooth seedbed.
