Leguminous Crops - JSS1 Agricultural science Lesson Note

Soybeans: A protein-rich legume, soybeans are used for human consumption, livestock feed, and the production of soy-based products such as tofu and soy milk.

Peas: Both garden peas and field peas are grown. They are consumed as vegetables, dried pulses, or processed into various food products.

Chickpeas: A major pulse crop, chickpeas are consumed as a protein source and are the key ingredient in dishes like hummus.

Lentils: Lentils are nutritious pulses consumed globally. They are a source of protein, fibre, and essential nutrients.
