Manuring and Fertilizer Requirements - SS1 Agriculture Lesson Note

Cocoa:

Cocoa requires regular fertilization with organic matter such as compost and animal manure.

Common mineral fertilizers like NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) are also applied to address nutrient deficiencies.

Fertilizer application should be timed with the growth phases of the cocoa trees.

Tea:

Tea benefits from regular applications of nitrogen-rich fertilizers.

Organic materials like compost and green manure can enhance soil fertility.

Fertilizer schedules are adjusted based on the age and condition of the tea bushes.

Coffee:

Coffee plants require nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers.

Organic matter such as coffee pulp and mulch can also be used for nutrition.

Fertilization should be done at specific times during the growing season.
