Meaning of Thermal Energy - JSS2 Basic science Lesson Note

Thermal energy is the energy that comes from heat. It is the total kinetic energy possessed by the particles in a substance due to their random motion. When particles move faster, they possess more thermal energy.

This energy is responsible for raising the temperature of a substance, causing it to expand, and driving various processes like cooking, heating buildings, or generating electricity in power plants.
