Non-Renewable Energy - JSS1 Basic science Lesson Note
Meaning: Non-renewable energy comes from sources that are finite and cannot be replenished in a short timeframe, such as fossil fuels (coal, oil, natural gas) and nuclear energy (uranium).
Examples: Coal, oil, natural gas, and nuclear energy.
Uses: Non-renewable energy sources are primarily used for electricity generation, transportation, heating, and manufacturing.
Misuse: Non-renewable energy sources contribute to air and water pollution, as well as greenhouse gas emissions, which drive climate change. Extracting and burning these resources can also have negative impacts on ecosystems and human health. Additionally, non-renewable energy sources are finite, so their depletion poses economic and energy security concerns in the long term.
