Rules and regulations in discus - JSS1 Physical and Health Education Lesson Note

  1. Athletes must throw the discus from a designated throwing area, which is often a 2.5-meter-wide circle.
  2. The discus must be held with one hand and thrown with a spinning motion.
  3. The athlete's feet should not leave the ground during the throw.
  4. The athlete must stay within the circle until the discus lands.
  5. The discus must be thrown within a specific sector. If it lands outside the sector, the throw is considered faulty.
  6. Athletes should listen to and obey the coach's directions to ensure their own and others' safety.
  7. Encourage fair play, sportsmanship, and respect for teammates and opponents.
  8. Make sure to use the proper discus and not throw anything that is not authorized for the activity.
