Scope/Areas in Home Economics) - JSS1 Home Economics Lesson Note

 

 This study explains and specifies the parameters within the study of Home Economics.

  1. Food and nutrition: This deals with the study of food and the nutrients it gives to the body.
  2. Clothing and textile: It deals with the designing and sewing of clothes. It also includes wise selection of clothes, personal hygiene and good grooming.  
  3. Home management: This deals with processes of using those things which the family has or needs to obtain the things needed by the family e.g money, time, energy, etc. 
  4. Consumer education: It teaches people/individual how to make wise decisions in selecting or buying goods and services.
  5. House and interior decoration: It deals with provision of housing for the family and how to decorate the house. 
  6. Child development and care: It deals with how children grow. It also deals with how to care for children properly to ensure they grow healthy and strong. 
  7. Family living: It deals with people living in the family. It teaches people how to maintain good relationship in the family.
