Baby layette is the complete set of cloths required by a new born baby. The baby layette or part of it should be provided before the baby arrives.

 1. To protect the baby.

2. To keep the baby warm.

3. To make baby comfortable.

Post natal care is the attention/care given to a mother from the day of delivery up to six weeks after.

1. The mother is examined by the doctor to make sure she is healthy and fit.

2. The baby is also examined to ensure he/she is normal and well.

3. The mother is advised on how to look after herself and the baby.

4. She is also advised on necessary immunization.
