Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Sydney International Undergraduate Academic Excellence Scholarship, you must:

  • Be an international student (as defined by the Higher Education Support Act 2003).
  • Have applied for, but not yet commenced, an eligible single undergraduate coursework degree at the University of Sydney.
  • Enroll in an eligible full-time course.
  • Have completed secondary school or a recognized foundation program.
  • Not have undertaken previous tertiary studies (excluding Year 12 extension programs).
  • Not be a dual citizen of Australia or an Australian permanent resident.

Note: Combined degrees with a postgraduate component, specific dual degrees (e.g., Sciences Po), and degrees including the Bachelor of Advanced Studies are generally ineligible. Contact the University of Sydney regional experts for confirmation regarding specific course eligibility.

How to Apply

Applicants are encouraged to apply for their chosen course early. Only successful candidates will be contacted regarding the scholarship, with an indicative notification turnaround time of 5 weeks from the date of application.

Important Considerations

Recipients are responsible for all other costs, including Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), living expenses, accommodation, and textbooks.
