Just when we thought is all over after months of ASUU strike, another one hits the students. The senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and their Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) counterpart have embarked on an indefinite strike action starting today Friday, February 5. The strike action is said to continue pending when their issues with the Federal Government are resolved.
The staff unions have written its various branches to hold a joint general meeting on Friday to know the way forward, but directed that the industrial actions begin from 12 midnight on Friday, pending any contrary resolution by the branches.
It is unfortunate that the students are the ones that suffer the most from these whole strike thing.
Imagine the kind of delays and frustrations some students go through in our tertiary institutions. This is too bad, and we hope it does not continue like this!
