Discus - JSS1 Physical and Health Education Lesson Note
Carriage: The athlete should hold the discus in their throwing hand, fingers gripping the edge and thumb supporting it from below.
Stance: The athlete should stand with their feet shoulder-width apart, facing away from the direction of the throw, and the non-throwing arm extended for balance.
Throw: As they release the discus, the athlete should rotate their body, shifting their weight from their back foot to their front foot.
Follow through: The athlete should continue the movement of the throw after releasing the discus, extending their arm and rotating their body to maintain momentum.
