Food is necessary for life and good health. It contains nutrients which nourish the body.
Nutrition refers to the way the body uses the food we eat. It is the sum of all the processes by which our bodies take in food nutrients for nourishment which carries out functions in our body.
List the classes of food nutrients and state functions of two classes.

- Carbohydrates:
i. Provides the body with heat and energy for work.

iv. Supplies energy in the absence of carbohydrate.
