Human trafficking can lead to physical health issues such as malnutrition, injuries from abuse or hazardous work conditions, and exposure to sexually transmitted infections due to sexual exploitation.

Victims of human trafficking often suffer from trauma, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and in severe cases, suicidal ideation, due to the coercion, abuse, and exploitation they endure.

Victims of human trafficking may turn to substance abuse as a coping mechanism to deal with the trauma they've experienced or due to coercion from their traffickers, as drugs or alcohol are often used as a means of control.

The fear of being judged or rejected by society can prevent human trafficking survivors from seeking the support and assistance they need, as they may feel ashamed or believe that they won't be believed or accepted if they disclose their experiences.
