Andela Nigeria recruitment process - the summary

 /Career

Andela application is ongoing.

For those interested in IT....

Who can apply for Andela software developer career?

From what I learnt, Andela is looking for passionate individuals who would like to solve problems using technology, especially via software development.

You get trained to become a world class software developer.

Interestingly, you don't need to be a developer/programmer before you can apply.

What you need is the genuine passion for it...

To apply, visit: https://andela.com

Click "Become a developer".

Andela Recruitment process

1. You will take a personality test, titled Sabber Test. It's nothing, just an easy stuff to evaluate your personality and if you're a good fit for Andela mission.

2. You go through Andela Home Study curriculum (see: https://homestudy.andela.com)

3. You take a simple quiz (on Google form) based on the Home Study. It's very simple quiz.

4. If you're successful (so far), you take the main quiz which is timed. A little bit of programming will come in here but, it's all based on the home study curriculum.

5. I heard most people crash out at step 4. But if successful, you will be invited for interview.

6. If you succeed in the interview, you will be invited to 2 weeks boot camp. I know of Lagos. I think there should be Enugu and other parts of the country as well.

7. If successful during bootcamp, you gain full time employment, get trained to become a world class developer.... Which is your reason for applying in the first place.

Takeaway: if you are passionate about IT or genuinely desire to become a software developer, you are the ideal candidate.

Technical stuff

For the "John Doe" friends and "foo bar" guys:

The language of choice to Andela are Python and JavaScript. But for Andela Nigeria, it is JavaScript, especially ES6 (ES2015).
