Here are the general admission requirements for any UTME candidate who wants to study medicine and surgery at UI:
- You must have at least five (5) credit passes in your WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB results. It must not be more than two (2) sittings which must include English Language and Mathematics.
NOTE: UI does not allow two (2) sittings for some of their courses.
- You must make the University of Ibadan your first choice of institution during JAMB registration. UI does not consider second-choice candidates when offering admission.
- You must be at least sixteen (16) years of age to get qualified for admission. Anything less than sixteen (16) years will not be considered.
- You are to choose the right subjects combination in your O-Level results, JAMB, and Post UTME of the university.
- You should score nothing less than a 200 score in your JAMB UTME examination to be eligible for the UI Post UTME examination.
- It is important you must meet the University of Ibadan cut-off mark for medicine and surgery to gain admission into the university.

Here are the general admission requirements for any Direct Entry candidate who wants to study theis course at UI:
