The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has tested and confirmed its readines to transition the WASSCE for School Candidates to a full Computer-Based Test (CBT) by 2026.

The new CBT format will include both objective and essay questions, unlike JAMB that is all objectives.

WAEC Already Testing the New Format

WAEC is already testing the system. According to a Punch report, the exam body recently conducted a trial test in Lagos with senior secondary students to test the computer-based essay-writing software.

This follows the successful migration of the WASSCE for private candidates to a CBT format earlier in 2024.

How to Get Prepared as a Student

This update is especially important for students currently in SS1 and SS2, as you will likely be the first group to take the full CBT WASSCE.

Your next step is simple: start practicing with EduPadi CBT app. As WAEC moves towards digital exams, getting comfortable with Compute-Based Test is an important factor for your success.
